Working Groups

In early 2015, nearly 300 citizens across Charlotte-Mecklenburg answered our public call to participate on one of our Working Groups. Each Working Group is aligned with one of our four pillars and comprised of concerned citizens, content experts and practitioners. In 2016, our four working groups helped us develop a community-wide strategic action plan to reach our ambitious goal of 80% third grade reading proficiency by 2025. The Working Groups helped us choose community indicators, systems change goals, and a mix of evidence-based strategies for action. Going forward we will regularly convene the Working Groups to report on our progress seek their input and feedback on as we continue to learn and adapt our efforts.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, talents and energy of this dedicated group of Charlotteans to help us reach our important goal of 80% of third graders reading on grade level by 2025.
